About Anup Pradhan
Dr. Anup Pradhan specializes in the treatment of knee and shoulder injuries, fractures, tendon disorders, arthritis, cartilage restoration, and shoulder replacement surgery.
Dr. Pradhan completed the prestigious Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery Fellowship at Duke University. During his fellowship, he also received specialty training in anatomic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, arthroscopic shoulder surgery, cartilage restoration and treatment of patellar instability.
Before joining Southwest Joint Replacement & Sports Medicine Center, Dr. Pradhan served as a team physician for Duke University basketball and football teams, Hershey Bears Hockey (part of the Washington Capitals organization), Penn State wrestling, North Carolina Central University football, and numerous high school teams.
His passion for sports medicine and extensive experience treating athletes made him a natural choice for “Orthopedic Surgeon for the 2013 Heart of Dallas Bowl” held at the iconic Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and Piedmont Orthopaedic Society.
“People come to me when they can’t do the things they’re passionate about,” he says. “A runner may be having pain while they run. A high school football player may have an injury that threatens to end his season. If I can get them back to 100 percent, that’s really rewarding.”
